Where to go in Bali
There are many great things to do and places to go in Bali. Travel Agencies offer Full Day and Half Day tours packages. Walk in to any Travel Agency to learn more about local activities in Bali. Alternatively you might want to explore or discover Bali on your own. If so some suggestions on the popular places you might want to consider to visiting.
Kintamani Volacano Tour
Visit the villages of Celuk (silver jewelry) and Mas (wood carving) to see Balinese artisans at work. Next stop is Ubud, Bali's cultural center, that is a bustling town with numerous art galleries and shops. A scenic drive over small roads overlooking beautiful rice terraces brings you to the mountain village of Kintamani (at 5,000 feet above sea level) which offers spectacular views of Lake Batur and itsactive volacano. Return through traditional villages with a stop at Tampaksiring to visit the temple of Tirta Empul. Finally, visit the Elephant Cave “Goa Gajah” a hermitage from the 11th Century used by both Buddhist and Hindu.
Bedugul & Tanah Lot Tour
Stop at the Royal Family Temple of Taman Ayun in Mengwi, drive up into Lake Bratan (1,200 meters above sea level) and stop at the picturesque water temple Ulun Danu. The busy market in Candikuning is where you will find most of Bali's produce such as flowers, fruits and spices. Then drive back through small country roads, villages and rice fields, with a stop at the Monkey Forest in Alas Kedaton and then final stop near sunset at Tanah Lot, a famous Temple built in the sea in the 16th century.
Handicraft Villages & Ubud
Visit the artisan villages of Batubulan (Stone Carving) Celuk (Silver & Jewelry) Mas (Woodcarving) and Pengosekan (Painting). Since the 1930’s, Ubud has been renowned around the world as Bali 's culture and art center. Many foreigner artist such as the German intellect Walter Spies, the Dutch painter Rudolf Bonner and Italian painter Antonio Bianco made Ubud their home and source of inspiration.
Nusa Dua / Uluwatu
Tanjung Benoa beach is the best place for water sport activities such as jet skis, parasailing, water skiing, etc. After the beach, go to the Southern tip of Bali to visit the temple of Uluwatu. This historical temple is pearch ed on a cliff over looking the Indian Ocean. Here, enjoy the view from the steep cliffs that tower over a sheer drop to the sea with spectacular waves crashing below. On the back from Uluwatu stop at the famous Jimbaran Beach to try the delicious seafood restaurants!
White Water Rafting

Diving and Cruises
There is some reasonable diving in Bali however you do need to do your home work and find out about details and conditions. Bali Hai (tel: +62 361 720 331) offers dive trips and also Catamaran day cruises to outlying Islands like Lembongan Island. Island Explorer Cruises offer full day and half day trips to Lembongan Island. Trips usually include lunch on board and activities such as snorkeling and banana boat rides. Some of the diving trips take you to nice locations and if you are lucky you might even see some dolphin swim by!
